What is Skilling for Recovery?

Smart and Skilled-Targeted Skills Program ( Skilling for Recovery ) is funded by NSW and the Federal Government through the JobTrainer Program. Skilling for Recovery is a key component of NSW’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan.

Jobseekers and school leavers can gain skills in Australia’s growing industries through the NSW JobTrainer program. As a Smart and Skilled training provider, KS Training assists eligible students in receiving this fully funded training.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the Skilling for Recovery funding, you need to be one of the following:

A person aged 16 to 24 at commencement of training, regardless of employment status, including Year 12 school leavers.
A Veteran
A Veteran’s Recognised Partner
A person who is a recipient of a Commonwealth Government welfare benefit (or their dependants)
An unemployed person
An employed person who is ‘expected to become unemployed’

Who is eligible for subsidised training under Smart and Skilled?

Are you:

15 years old or over?
no longer at school?
living or working in NSW?
an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course.
